16 years ago I was elected to the Planning Board, and I am in my fourth term, I served as chair for 5 years. This has given me invaluable exposure to negotiations with developers, in depth knowledge of our zoning bylaws, and strong relationships with department heads, multiple committees, the Advisory Finance Committe and the current Select Board.

 

I have also been on the Board of Assessors for 10 years, which has given me a unique perspective of the burden on our taxpayers, and an understanding of how our levy works and sound fiscal strategies.

 

As Chair of the Open Space Preservation Committee, I can proudly say that Westborough has purchased, or acquired through gift, over 300 acres of Open Space in my 16 years of service. I also Chair the Master Plan Implementation Committee and have served on several other committees for the Town.

 

While I will have to relinquish some of these roles with the move to the Select Board, my schedule allows the flexibility, my dedication ensures that I will do the necessary preparation, research and outreach to the community, and my family has always been supportive of this commitment.
